Teku Syndrom: Woman Fronted Purebred Rock from Atlantic Canada
Emerging from Edmundston, New Brunswick, Teku Syndrom delivers straightforward, homegrown rock inspired by the grit and soul of Atlantic Canada. The band's moniker reflects the creative state of mind lead guitarist Eric "Raz" Toussaint enters when songwriting—trusty Teku glass in hand. With Teresa's angelic vocals soaring over Dan's no-holds-barred guitar-driven sound, supported by Tony's intense bass foundation and Garry's thunderous drums, Teku Syndrom explores the hard rock and alternative universes. They deliver thought-provoking lyrics while rocking, grooving, and appealing to audiences of all ages.
The Journey
Teku Syndrom made their global debut with the single "Help Me Grow" in May 2022. Telling the true story of band member transgender child, the track resonated worldwide, reaching #3 on FM 89.5 in Canberra, Australia. Alan Cross (Corus Radio/A Journal of Musical Things) praised the track, noting: "What an interesting (and uplifting) topic for a song! Good job."
Building on this momentum, the band released their debut EP, The Path, in May 2023 to a sold-out crowd at the Edmundston Art Center. The EP was hailed by critics as a "remarkable musical journey" (BrokenColor.co) with "hooks beyond hooks" (The Buzz Slayers).
On Stage & In the Community
Teku Syndrom is as committed to their community as they are to their craft. They have raised over $24,500 for local charities through their self-produced S.H.E. 🤘 Rocks benefit shows (2024 & 2025) – Strong Humble Edmundston (🤘) Women Rocks.
Their live resume includes supporting French-Canadian legends Vilain Pingouin, emerging Quebec rockers Sandveiss, country star Justin Legacy and fellow New Brunswickers; La Grosse Équipe. Their high-energy performances have earned them accolades within the Acadian Hard Rock scene, including the People's Choice Award (2024) and the Altruism Award (2025) at the Savèches Wing Awards.
Looking ahead, Teku Syndrom is fresh out of Aurum Waves studio in January 2026 where they recorded their sophomore EP-Rise set to launch in May 2026 at the Edmundston Art Center. But before that big day, March will see them support the Mexican/Quebecer metal/funk group DéKorà on their Ahuevo Tabarnak 2026 tour.
